SECTION- II

Q.3 Translate any two of the following paragraphs into Urdu: (4×4=8)

(a) The revelation of the divine message, which continued for the next twenty-three years, had begun, and the Rasool صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم (خاتم النبیین) had arisen to proclaim the Oneness of Allah (Tauheed) and the unity of mankind. His mission was to destroy the nexus of superstition, ignorance, and disbelief, and set up a noble conception of life to lead mankind to the light of faith and divine bliss.

(b) The upper level of the interior is adorned with blue paint. More than 200 stained glass windows with intricate designs allow natural light to brighten up its interior, and the chandeliers further illuminate it with their glow. The decorations include A’yat from the Holy Quran. The floors are covered with carpets.

(c) Drug addiction is a common problem all over the world today. There are many forms of drug addiction, but the most dangerous of all is the absolute dependence on it. Long-term use of drugs causes permanent mental and physical sickness. Some kinds of drugs that cause disturbance of mind and body are heroin, marijuana, tobacco, valium, cocaine, and alcohol.

Q.7 Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions given at the end: (10)

Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed (رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ) was extremely kind-hearted and just to the people. His army had strict orders not to do any harm to the farmers, aged persons, women, children, and other civilians. “They are the real strength of the society,” he said, “They should always be treated with kindness and respect.” This was something new for the conquered people, who felt very happy now. The Iranian and Byzantine officers were very hard on them. Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed’s (رضی اللہ تعالٰی عنہ) treatment won their hearts so much that they began to hate their cruel old masters.
